Chiropractic care after a car accident is one of the keys to a full recovery, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
I was in a car accident a couple years ago. An old lady pulled in front of me at an intersection and I T-boned her going about 60 mph. I knocked her car 30 feet off the road.
Of course, my first reaction was shock and it included many highly and emotionally charged questions.
Did I just kill someone!? Is anyone else hurt!? Am I hurt!? Am I dying from my injuries!?
Are they dying from their injuries!? How will my injuries affect my family!? How will their injuries affect their family!?
Both parties think and feel these exact same thoughts and emotions during a serious car accident.
The physical injuries from a car accident are not the only injuries to consider. The emotional and psychological injuries from a car accident can be as real and symptomatic as the physical injuries.
I call it heart shock.
It’s that few moments when one faces death or possible death and walk away shaking, disoriented and emotional.
It’s happens at that very moment when something really traumatic happens that wasn’t on our daily schedule. Unplanned trauma can have a very strong psychological and emotional effect on the nervous system. As a result, it can have a major effect on your body and how it functions.
Here’s what I want people who’ve suffered a car accident to understand.
I want you to understand that the emotional and psychological trauma is likely still circulating in your nervous system.
If you’re afraid to drive, afraid of intersections and afraid of traffic, I know the psychological and emotional trauma is still with you.
If you are overwhelmed as a passenger in a car because it’s going to fast or you suffer from a lack of control while being a passenger, I know the trauma is alive. I know how you feel and I know how to reduce your anxieties.
Some may even be suffering from the effects of PTSD.
I know exactly what to do and I’m so excited to help you. I can’t explain everything I’ll do for you inside this blog post. If you’re interested in chiropractic in Lansing, MI, go ahead and subscribe to my blog and like my Kardia Chiropractic Facebook page.
